Later Alex perked up as one of the beach bars had two sets of small goal posts situated on the sand just outside. The two of us started playing and within minutes we had one of the biggest multi-cultural beach matches in history upon us. As children from ‘Geordieland’, ‘Scouseland’, the Black Country, London, Holland, Bulgaria and Turkey were suddenly all asking to play. Dad just about managed to keep order and, more importantly, engineered victory for Alex’s multi-cultural ‘All Stars’.
