There was soooooooo much snow in Winter 2010!
It was a good job Chalet Margaritka invested in some expensive snow blowing machinery. In the Winter’s of 2009 and 2010 massive amounts of snow fell in Morzine and the surrounding villages; despite some people thinking they’re not high enough at 1000 metres. Fact is Morzine-Avoriaz consitently has one of the best snow records in the whole of the French Alps. From Christmas to Easter you can usually ski the complete ‘Portes du Soleil’ circuit. A marvelous experience – well only if you ski quick enough to enjoy a wonderful lunch at the ‘Cafe des Sports’ in Morgins.
