Yep, it’s that time again – The Summer posting.
The Spanish border is less of a drive from the chalet than going North to Calais. This time we decided to stay one night in Perpignan before crossing the border, It gave us the opportunity to see some of the cute places on the French coast before making the spectacular crossing into Spain and down to a fabulous little place – L’Estartit (although, it’s not so little these days).
We spent a wonderful 10 days in and around L’Estartit. A place some old friends from Wales used to talk about, many years ago. Obviously, we had a great time, let the photos tell the story:
- Definitely worth doing – the drive along the coastal road from France – above Ports Vendres.
- Crossing the border into Spain – what a view!!
- Rita and Alex the first night in L’Estartit.
- Next day, Rita went for a walk and took in some nice views.
- Another one of the bay.
- After her walk for some reason Rita felt she deserved a beer! The pink dress became a favourite of the hols!
- Alex and Glyn in L’Escala – another pretty village just the other side of the peninsula.
- After a bit of exploration it was time for a bit of lunch. The afternoon was spent on the beach.
- Looks like Glyn was having a good time – nothing like a glass of Rosada in the sun. Look at the beach behind – You can tell it was lunchtime.
- The Tsar went for a boat ride – looking cool!
- Where he took in this small island (Illes Medes), just outside of the bay.
- The Tsar becomes Nemo – And gets to spend some time under water! Watching all the fishes.
- Alas, it does rain on the Costa Brava – occasionally. Would you believe the storm shut the Aqua Park much to Alex disappointment.
- Luckily the Tsar didn’t stay unhappy for long – he never does.
