A fantastic morning was had. Overnight a bit of fresh snow had fallen high up. We’d found fresh powder and no people on the piste in Chatel Linga, the ridge above Avoriaz off the ‘Intrets Express’ had been navigated once more except this time we kept on going all the way down to the 6 man ‘Combes Express’ below Avoriaz – a descent of a 1000 metres or more. Then for the ‘piece de resistence’ we dropped off the side of the ‘Coupe du Monde’ having taken the ‘Combes Express’ all the way to the top and ski’d all the way down to Prodains on the valley floor – a descent of well over 1200 metres. We were really off piste and there was just us. The snow on the top section off the side of the ‘Coupe du Monde’ was fantastic!
