The Return of the Wings………
March 4, 2015After a month of new guests the last few days of February saw the Wings return – David and Elaine and their three enthusiastic children – Ryan, Nathan and Melissa. They were accompanied by Stewart (Elaine’s brother) and Liz (who hurt herself last time so needed to be a bit careful). It was Stewart’s second visit of the season and umpteenth visit over the last few years. We must do something right!!
They were confronted by all seasons and types of conditions across their five day stay – snow, dense mist, cloud, heavy rain and warm Spring sunshine. Indeed, the first day of Spring didn’t quite fall on March 1st but on the morning of March 3rd we were greeted by the first really warm rays this year in the village.
The pics, of course, tell the story:
- Ryan, Stewart and the Tsar (Alex) off-piste and high above Lindarets and Lac Montriond again.
- Ryan and Alex enjoy a Chocolat Chaud or two:))
- In order to ski you have to take the chair!! Ryan and Alex seemed inseparable on this day.
- David with said chalet host. David did exceptionally well down the Black mogul field to Plaine Dranse (courtesy of Stewart, of course).
- Elaine and David at one of the customary Vin Chaud stops. One was definitely deserved after that mogul field run!
- Nathan showing superb stopping technique. Not sure who he covered in snow that time!!
- Liz working hard to master the technique. Remember, like everything ‘practice makes perfect’.
- Just a nice one of mother (Elaine) and daughter (Melissa).
- A great shot of our village, La Cote D’Arbroz covered in fresh snow. Taken from the Super Morzine bubble which you can see from the chalet. It’s a great location perched on the side of a mountain (and so gets lots of sunshine), under the majestic Roc Enfer and with Morzine only 5 minutes away. Consequently, we do have some great views!!
- The Wings together, well apart from mum!!
- And again but still no mum (did no-one else take any pics on this trip?)
- It seems like it was a long day for Ryan or, perhaps the stay at Chalet Margaritka was just too much for him?
